Install the Circle ID Extension

The Circle ID Extension works with Chrome, Edge, and Brave on desktop (Windows, macOS, and Linux). Safari and Firefox are not supported.

Chrome

  1. Open the Chrome Web Store page for the Circle ID Extension.

  2. Click Add to Chrome.

  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Add extension.
  4. The Circle ID Extension icon appears in your toolbar. If you don't see it, click the puzzle piece icon () in the toolbar and pin the Circle ID Extension.

Edge

  1. Open the Edge Add-ons page for the Circle ID Extension.

  2. Click Get.

  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Add extension.
  4. The Circle ID Extension icon appears in your toolbar. If you don't see it, click the extensions icon () in the toolbar and pin the Circle ID Extension.

Brave

Brave supports Chrome extensions. Follow the Chrome instructions above — the Chrome Web Store link works in Brave.

After you install

  • Make sure the extension icon shows ON in your toolbar. That means it's active.
  • If you see a red ERR badge, another extension may be conflicting. Click the Circle ID Extension icon for details. See what the badges mean.
  • Next, set up the Circle ID app on your phone if you haven't already.

Other passkeys

While the extension is active, it handles all passkey requests in your browser. Passkeys saved in Google Password Manager, 1Password, Windows Hello, or on a security key won't work. Learn how to switch.
